With lots of cool toys that's how. Actually, most of the toys I'm talking about were in the software. Apple's really trying to get into the Pro Tools market with their new release of Logic Pro 7. The "butter on the muffin" so to speak is all of the plug-ins they bundle with Logic Pro. You would literally spend thousands plugging in to Pro Tools to bring it even close, and for that reason I give kudos to Apple.

Being a Graphic Designer as well I have favoritism toward Apple in the first place so keeping it in the family is quite enticing to say the least. Not a difficult thing for me to do at all. Having said that consider this my official review of Apple's new Logic Pro 7 and that's not to mention Garage Band.

All of After was recorded, arranged, mixed and mastered all on a 17" Powerbook through a M-Audio USB Mobile Pre. The Mobile Pre is a truly great interface. For the cost and portability not even to mention the quality, you can't beat it. As I said before on the home page, thank God for modern technology.

First, I roughed in the drums and bass lines and a little bit of the keyboard stuff via MIDI in Garageband. Once I had the basic song structure where I wanted it I opened the Garageband file up in Logic Pro 7 and recorded my vocal tracks along with my guitars directly into Logic via Guitar Amp Pro. The synths are all products of Logic's powerful plug-ins package. Everything was mixed and edited in Logic. I might also mention that high quality microphones and a little Auralex studio foam had a part to play in it as well. Mastering was done in WaveBurner, also packaged with Logic Pro 7. That's about it folks. I wrote all the tunes and Apple saved me tons-o-money in studio costs. Thanks Apple! My powerbook didn't have the juice needed to do the final mixing so I had to seek extra power. That part will remain a mystery to you, ha ha!

Now don't think for a second Apple wrote the songs. That's simply not the case. You still need the creativity to write compelling music and that doesn't come easy. Apple simply provides you the tools. You are the parent of your music and how you choose to birth it is up to you. There are very few loops Apple provided which I used. The few I used were modified beyond recognition anyway. After is not smoke and mirrors. It's the real thing—as real as it gets. All I'm doing is sharing my creative process with all you other independent creatives out there so you too can benefit.

New family member

I would like to welcome a new member to the team, long time friend and closer than a brother David Czerny. I am looking forward to sharing our future together and creating once again. Exciting times ahead.

We have media!

Due to popular demand I have posted some of the pre-mastered material on the site for your listening pleasure. You can find it on the "What" page.

Dial up users be warned

Alright, I've already received complaints about the time it takes to download some of my stuff, so this goes out to the people still stuck with dial up--Guys, I'm sorry. I have every intention on making this site user friendly for all internet users, however, it's going to take some time so please be patient. I promise it will be worth the wait. I guess I'm kinda spoiled with broad band and sometimes I have to remind myself that there are still those who don't even have that as an option and I don't want to miss you.
